Rustic Peach Pie

Rustic Peach Pie

Barnes and Noble located in a local mall.

The picture of the rustic peach pie doesn’t have anything to do with this post. But I have been thinking about it and I just happened to pass a truck along the road selling Georgia Peaches as I made my way to the nearest free wi-fi available to me this lovely Sunday afternoon.

You see I have been without internet service for about 24 hours now. Not a fun thing when you have work to do I can assure you.

The internet went out yesterday afternoon as I mentioned but I just thought something simple was wrong like I needed to reenter the security code for the wi-fi at home.  So an SOS to the provider was not made until late afternoon.

Like an hour before the repair technicians went home for the weekend.

Now Monday is the earliest that a tech will be dispatched to make repairs!

Did I mention I have work to do?

Yes I have work that needs to be done over the weekend so that it can be posted the first of the week.

Not happening!

I have realized that I am very dependent on things that are cloud based and need the internet to access. I bet you are also!

I also realized that I will be downloading Windows Live Writer before the laptop battery dies.

Years ago I used Windows Live Writer to update my blogger blog occasionally. For some reason I quit using it. Then I moved my blog over to WordPress and never even considered using it until the internet went down yesterday.

As I spent the better part of the day, my birthday at that… reading a Nora Roberts book because I was lost without the internet.

Well that’s not the only reason I was reading it. I happen to love Nora Roberts and had picked up this book on Friday at a thrift store. But I was totally lost as to how I was going to get my work done before the deadlines without camping out at a local wi-fi spot over night.

Then I remembered Windows Live Writer and guess what it was already installed on this laptop and I didn’t even know it until I just tried downloading it and got a messgae telling me I had a newer version installed.

So I could have been working on my blog posts yesterday instead of reading Nora Roberts.

Oh well I’ve got to run the battery is dying in the laptop and I can’t find an outlet in the cafe!

See you soon! I hope.

  1. I was so excited to see this peach pie pic – I followed your tweet! I’m in love with this type of crust and just recently I made a plum crostata with this crust and it was killer. If you get a chance check it out http://bit.ly/BeBetsyCrostata
I’ll look for your peach pie post as it may happen, right?

I love this crust. It is the only one I will use for any pies. It is a recipe from the Pioneer Woman’s forst cookbook. It’s is not actually her recipe but one of her friends.
Your Plum Crostata looks so good. I’ve never used plums in a pie.

  2. I like Nora Roberts too!!
