Glad bags have been a part of our family for many years. I love the odorsheild tall kitchen bags. Emptying the trash is so much more pleasant when your greeted with a pretty scent instead of a nasty trash smell. The Black Flex bag is the best bag to use when you have a big trash job that needs to be taken care of, especially if your cleaning up the yard. And not having to worry about overload and the bag tearing is such a sweet thing.
What better way is there to celebrate Earth Day this year then to support a worthy cause?
Life gets wild (& messy) – it’s inevitable.
That’s why Glad® Black Bag is turning trash into works of art. In this case, celebrity trash. In turn, we’re encouraging you to rethink what is done with the items that get broken amidst your everyday — or not so everyday — wild life.
As proud partners of Keep America Beautiful, we’ve helped clean-up communities for 27 years. Now this Earth Month, we’re auctioning original pieces of upcycled art made from remnants of wild life moments.
Glad has partnered with acclaimed artist Jason Mecier to create custom artwork from the would-be trash of Hollywood stars, including actress Amy Smart, actor Jesse Eisenberg, reality star Lauren Conrad, actress Emmanuelle Chriqui of “Entourage,” Parks & Recreation’s Nick Offerman, actress Megan Mullally, Dancing with the Stars’ Chelsie Hightower, and “iCarly’s” Nathan Kress. In addition, we’ve tapped Great American Cleanup™ volunteers to submit unique finds from cleanup events across the country.
Bid on these original works of upcycled art between April 16 and 26, 2012. Auction proceeds benefit Keep America Beautiful and its mission to engage individuals to take greater responsibility for improving their community environments.
No matter how wild life gets, cleanups are in the bag with Glad Black Bag.
Get Wild, Get Creative and Upcycle, Bid Today.
It’s a small step we can all take to waste less… even us wild ones!
Check out the four awesome pieces of art that artists Jason Mecier has created and then place a bid and support this project.
The old saying that “one man’s trash is another mans treasure” fits perfect for the mixed media or mosaic artist.
If your an artist in either of these mediums you know that you will pick up and use almost anything you find if it catches your eye. A piece of paper or a rusty bottle cap picked up off the side of the road may spark inspiration for many a piece of art yet to be created.
Glad® Black Bag is encouraging moms to celebrate life’s wild moments. Life can get wild and messes happen when we’re having fun. You never know when, but you know they will. And that’s okay, because cleaning up these staggering messes isn’t so bad anymore.
The Picker Sisters have also teamed up with Glad® Black Bag and Keep America Beautiful to celebrate and cleanup life’s wild moments and then find incredible and smart ways to reuse the trash.
By leveraging the Picker Sister’s expertise and partnering with celebrated mosaic artist Jason Mecier, Glad® Black Bag is showing the beauty and benefits of turning trash into treasures.
Grandma’s broken tea cup the kids knocked off the shelf that you can’t bare to throw away or a favorite book that has been chewed up by the dog can be turned into a beautiful piece of art.
Happy Earth Day!
